And the winner of our 50th edition photo competition is …

Congratulations to Carlton resident Louisa for sharing this neat little photo capturing these two colourful parrots on a wire sunning themselves in the morning light!

A huge thank you, to the many who entered our photo competition from July celebrating the 50th edition of Inner City News.

While we were overwhelmed with the number of entries, which captured a range of local scenes from Lygon St and Carlton Gardens through to East Melbourne heritage icons and Royal Park, Louisa’s photo ultimately got the nod.

Showcasing Carlton’s quiet, heritage streetscape on the edge of the CBD, complete with a renowned green median strip and the two parrots enjoying the morning serenity, we think the photo sums up life in Carlton nicely.
