Distribution

We print and distribute 14,000 copies of the Inner City News at the start of each month. With a conservative multiplier of 2.5 readers per paper, this translates to 35,000 monthly readers.

A proportion of readers are from outside East Melbourne, Carlton and Parkville. They are visitors to the precinct who pick up the paper from one numerous pick-up baskets which we have placed in high-traffic areas.

The rest go to residents and workers in our three suburbs. We deliver into the letterboxes of every apartment and business within East Melbourne, Carlton and Parkville. According to latest data from Roy Morgan Research, around 25,000 people live in these suburbs.

Our papers are kept “topped up” throughout the month in a number of high-traffic areas including Woolworths Lygon Court, IGA Express Lygon St, LaMama Courthouse, Carlton Gardens Tennis Club, Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Kathleen Syme Community Centre, Carlton Gardens Primary School, Kere Kere Cafe Fitzroy Gardens and East Melbourne General Store.

Our papers can be found in all businesses, with multiple copies in dozens of cafes and other places where people gather.
