Community Trivia Night in East Melbourne
The annual East Melbourne Trivia night was held on a busy football finals night at the Unitarian Church Hall.
Outside the streets were full of teeming crowds on their way to MCG. Inside the hall looked like a bustling country scene. Locals, families and friends from afar all joined in.
Tables were laden with homemade supper treats: sausage rolls, sandwiches, cupcakes, quiches, sponges, etc. Flavours of times past and still favourites.
Quiz master Bill had carefully created questions and brain teasers on various topics … culture, history, current affairs, music, the suburb of East Melbourne and more. We were tested.
We were treated to a soprano performance from accomplished celebrity, Sophie Bissett. Choir master Richard directed the East Melbourne choir with a selection of classic songs and folk songs.
Many prizes were donated by local business sponsors with a huge hamper for the winning table.
Ninety-three thousand people at the MCG did not dampen our night. The popular Trivia night was full to capacity, full of fun, family and friends.

EMG now has 500 members. Our mission is to protect the heritage and safety of our suburb, create opportunities for new friendships through social activities as well as health and wellbeing activities.
Enjoy the Powlett Reserve Community Centre for yoga, pilates, book groups, singing and more. Watch out for the upcoming family barbecue at the East Melbourne Library on December 6 and the Christmas Picnic at Bishopscourt on December 14. All are welcome. •
