Many thanks to Inner City News for its great article on the proposed development at 35-39 Royal Parade and the residents gathering last month. We now have more than 150 objections to the development.

Parkville Association through June!

As we grow the Association’s life gets a lot busier particularly with the development at 35-39 Royal Parade. As this is a feature issue this month I will let that story convey the message. Suffice to say on Saturday morning there were more professors on the Parkville side of Royal Parade than at the Uni!

On Tuesday, April 12, Melbourne City Council held its first ever Future Melbourne Meeting in Parkville at the Treacy Centre.

The 55th Parkville Association annual general meeting (AGM) was held at Naughtons Hotel (pictured above) on Monday, March 21. Nearly 60 members attended the first “in person” AGM for two years.

As I write this column, O-Week is back at Melbourne University with Royal Parade and some of the student accommodation in Parkville buzzing with excitement. New students, many from overseas, are familiarising themselves with our area. Hopefully, we are seeing confidence returning to Melbourne and Naughtons filling up with old friends.
