We’ve turned 50 (editions, that is!)

The July 2025 edition of Inner City News is our 50th issue, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing communities in Carlton, East Melbourne, and Parkville.

Since our first edition during the COVID pandemic in February 2021, we've worked hard to establish this valuable community service as the region's only dedicated local news source.

To celebrate, we’re inviting readers to help us showcase what makes our part of inner-city Melbourne so special.

We’ve teamed up with four Carlton businesses to offer one lucky reader the ultimate night out in Carlton with a package that includes:

• $50 to Capitano
• $50 to Readings Carlton
• $50 to Cinema Nova
• $50 to GLO Gelato

How to enter:

Simply submit a photo you’ve taken in your community of either Carlton, Parkville or East Melbourne. It could be a building, a bite, a busker or a back street – anything that feels iconic to the entrant's community. The winner won’t be judged on photo quality alone, but on how well the image captures the character of their suburb.
