East Melbourne residents gathered for a festive day of fun on November 25 with musicians and, of course, Santa arriving on a fire truck bringing joy to the crowd.

The annual picnic tradition, held at the historic Bishopscourt garden, featured musicians, market stalls offering an array of delicious treats and crafts, children’s face painting, Christmas carols and singalongs and more.

The day was organised by the East Melbourne Group, which also celebrated its 70th anniversary. Attendees, who rolled out picnic rugs under sunny skies, said the gathering was highly successful, creating a vibrant community atmosphere and an opportunity to come together. •
