Carlton Inc. launches egg-citing Easter event

Local traders’ association Carlton Inc. is gearing up to bring its inaugural Easter Egg Hunt to the precinct, aiming to attract families and boost local trade.

The event will take place on April 17 from 3pm to 6pm, ahead of Good Friday.

“We’ve got some really great board members on, and they're looking at bringing more people to the precinct,” Carlton Inc. executive officer Phil Mansour told Inner City News.

The Easter Egg Hunt will begin at the Carlton Newsagency on Lygon St, where families can gather before exploring participating businesses to collect their Easter treats.

In addition to the hunt, children can look forward to a range of activities, with a potential visit from the Easter Bunny on the cards.

Carlton Inc. has previously hosted successful Christmas events, which inspired it to introduce an Easter celebration for the first time.

“We haven’t really done anything like this before with Easter,” Mr Mansour said.

“We’ve done it with Christmas, and we found that it works really well with the families in the area. So, we thought this should be something that we should be doing on an ongoing basis.”

Local businesses are encouraged to participate by signing up with Carlton Inc. to be included in the Easter Egg Hunt map.

“If they want to be part of it, they can contact us at the association directly,” Mr Mansour said.

Traders who opt in will be provided with Easter eggs to distribute, as well as promotional materials like window posters and festive stickers.

“We're trying to activate the precinct, bring people in, and have a joyful time,” he said.
