A new label every Hump Day
Fashion retailer RPM Melbourne’s store on the corner of Elgin and Drummond streets is a sophisticated space bathing in natural light and oozing style.
Sian Giarrusso, co-owner with her husband Daniel, source and import international men’s and women’s designer wear for the customer looking for a personalised shopping experience.
Each Wednesday, Ms Giarrusso launches a new and exclusive capsule collection of women’s garments from the likes of Paris, Antwerp and Varese Italy.
Together with RPM’s social media manager Grace Ireland, weekly newsletters go out to their customers detailing that week’s collection and the ethos of the brand they are featuring.
“We are known as a destination boutique,” Ms Giarrusso said.
“Over the 25 years we have been in Carlton, we have built a clientele who make up 80 per cent of our business.”
“I have known most of them through marriages, children, and divorces over the years.”
Monday and Tuesday are set aside each week for appointment-only shopping.
Clients shop with Ms Giarrusso as their personal stylist, discussing their lifestyle needs or any special occasions as she pulls together garments for the appropriate look.
“They love to shop, dress up and look good,” she said.
Mr Giarrusso offers the same personal style service for men providing in-store access to the latest in Italian and Japanese fashion.
The pair of them have experience in the fashion industry that goes back years.
Mr Giarrusso opened the men’s wear Kenzo store in Little Collins St in 2011.
While his wife’s career covered retail, wholesale and production for the Rarity label.
As well as garments for both sexes RPM stocks accessories, bags, shoes and fragrances.
The store has an almost Scandinavian feel with clean-line wooden fittings and subtle lighting making the experience of shopping calm and enjoyable. •
