A Carlton Christmas spectacular

Christmas fever is taking over Carlton with live music along Lygon St, a Christmas Roller Rink, performances at La Mama, a Hot Rod Social Toy Run for the Salvation Army, free local gift cards, and more.

The line-up of events and activations is brought to locals thanks to Carlton business association, Carlton Inc.

First up is Bella Ciao bringing sounds from the Italian Peninsula with their three-piece band taking over Lygon St every weekend from Friday, December 1 to Saturday, December 23.

Next on the bill is a La Mama take-over of the Piazza Italia (Argyle Square) from December 1 to 16. Bring the kids for a family friendly program featuring performances and live music every Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 8pm.

In the festive spirit of giving, the Hot Rod Social will host their annual Lygon St Toy Run supporting the Salvation Army on Sunday, December 3 from 7am to 10am.

All toys, clothing, food, and cash donations will be collected for children and families in need this Christmas.

Finally, continuing the spirit of generosity, Carlton Inc. will be giving away free gift cards to spend at Carlton businesses. •
