All Aboard! Transforming Tram 776 into an iconic community hub

All Aboard! Transforming Tram 776 into an iconic community hub

Residents of Carlton, get ready to embark on an extraordinary journey with us at the Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre!

We are thrilled to introduce the Tram 776 Project – a bold and vibrant initiative set to transform a heritage tram into a bustling hub for our community.

Through VicTrack’s Retired Trams Strategy, Tram 776 will be a dynamic space dedicated to learning, gathering, and celebrating our diverse community. It’s set to offer a unique venue for workshops, education classes, and community meetings, as well as a charming location for your next event.

Imagine stepping into a beautifully restored tram housing a pop-up café and restaurant in the warmer months, where you can enjoy global cuisine cooked by new migrants and refugees, with all profits invested into our programs for people experiencing disadvantage.

We’re excited, but we need your help to make this vision a reality. Are you a builder, experienced fundraiser, or skilled tradesperson? Your expertise can help bring Tram 776 to life.

We are also seeking community donations – every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer. Your donation is tax-deductible and directly supports the project.

To further our efforts, we encourage everyone to share our vision with friends, family, and colleagues. The more people know, the quicker we can achieve our goal.

While we’re eager to start, there’s still a long tram track to go with approvals and fundraising. But with the community’s support, we’re confident we can overcome these hurdles and create something truly special.

Join us in this exciting journey and help make Tram 776 a cornerstone of our community, celebrating diversity, creativity, and connection. Together, we can transform this heritage tram into an iconic space for all.
